This nourishing warm beverage serves as a chocolate fix while delivering a good source of protein and featuring greatly reduced sugar.
Ingredients (serves 1)
8oz coffee (decaf or regular)
8oz unsweetened soymilk
1 ½ tablespoons cocoa powder (Hersheys special dark, found in baking aisle works well)
Vanilla extract
1-2tsp of sugar optional (as little as possible to enjoy)
Directions
1. Make coffee as usual
2. Stir in cocoa and vanilla
3. Warm up 8oz soymilk and pour in
4. Taste and add sugar if desired
Note: You can of course use other milks. I choose soymilk so vegetarians and vegans can enjoy AND to incorporate more plant based foods – great for our health and our planet’s. Soymilk has far more protein than almond, oat, cashew or rice alternatives. Nutrition facts based on soy milk and 1.5 tsp sugar.
